The landscape has received several classifications reviewed by some authors (and presents difficulties to analyse due to its complexity. The proposed classification system comprises six levels in the spatial scale, considering the relevance of the climatic and structural elements in the units of greater scalar scope. The landscape must be understood through the interaction between society and nature, together with an idiographic, systemic and integrated approach. It has the connotation of a component of the environmental quality when observed as a resource of cultural, aesthetic, historical, economic, recreational and ecological value.
