Editorial Code of Ethics
Naturae upholds this Code of Conduct as a foundational ethical framework to guide authors, editors, reviewers, and all collaborators involved in the editorial process. Its primary aim is to foster a publishing environment rooted in scientific integrity, impartiality, and shared accountability.
Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team is dedicated to managing all processes with fairness and objectivity, assessing manuscripts solely on academic merit without discrimination of any kind. All submission-related information is treated with strict confidentiality. Editors must refrain from exploiting manuscript content for personal or professional advantage. In cases where editors have personal, professional, or academic ties to authors, they are required to declare such conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the editorial process.
Decisions regarding manuscripts must be based on objective criteria, informed by peer review feedback, and communicated to authors in a respectful, transparent, and well-reasoned manner.
Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are expected to provide thorough, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations, guided by principles of objectivity, respect, and dedication to scientific excellence. Manuscripts under review must remain confidential and may not be used for personal or scholarly benefit. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest (whether personal, institutional, or financial) prior to accepting assignments and must decline review tasks if impartiality could be compromised. Timely completion of reviews is essential to maintain an efficient editorial workflow.
Author Responsibilities
Authors bear full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and scientific rigor of their submissions. All external sources must be properly cited in accordance with accepted academic standards. Where applicable, manuscripts must demonstrate compliance with ethical regulations governing research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data, including approval from relevant ethics committees.
Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest at the time of submission. Should significant errors or inaccuracies be discovered post-publication, authors must promptly inform the editorial team to facilitate corrections or retractions as necessary.
Policy on Misconduct
Naturae maintains a zero-tolerance stance toward unethical conduct such as plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, concurrent submissions, and inappropriate authorship attribution. Confirmed violations will be managed in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and may result in retraction, submission bans, and formal notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions.
Commitment to Readers
The journal is committed to publishing work of scientific significance, social relevance, and methodological rigor. It prioritizes clear and accessible communication, offers open access to all content, and accepts full responsibility for the editorial process, continually striving to fulfill the expectations and needs of its readership with excellence.
Code Review and Updates
This Code of Conduct is subject to periodic review to ensure ongoing compliance with international best practices in scientific publishing and editorial ethics.
